Chadron State students provide hurricane relief
2009 May 1Chadron State College students from the region were among the 50 volunteer workers who participated in college-sponsored hurricane relief missions to the Gulf Coast during spring break. Two CSC groups traveled to the Gulf Coast Region in March. Deena Kennell, CSC director of internships and career services, led a group of 41 students to Galveston, Texas, where Hurricane Ike battered the region September of 2008. Sarah Polak, director of CSC's Sandoz Center, led eight students to New Orleans to assist in an effort to restore the region's cultural heritage, damaged by Hurricane Katrina four years ago. A primary objective of both trips was to give students an experience in volunteer service. Following are the students from the region, their hometowns and city of service.
