Kate Seifer Presents Science Research at CSC

2013 Jan 15

Kate Seifer of Paxton, Neb., was among the Chadron State College students who delivered capstone science presentations as the fall 2012 semester was winding down in December.

Seifer delivered a presentation titled "Hormonal Fluctuations Increase Risk of Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injuries in Women."

The Bioseminar II presentations, which are a requirement for students graduating with a biology degree, were presented in the CSC Math and Science Building.

Students of Bioseminar II choose their topics and receive mentoring from CSC faculty members. The students present their findings during one of their last two semesters at CSC.

"We hammer them hard on digging into the biology of the topic and on technical writing," said Dr. Joyce Hardy, CSC professor of physical and life sciences. "They invest a lot of time, effort, and a few tears and frustrations."
