Meet CSC Admissions Ambassador Aubree Heinsma

Sophomore golfer earns award, volunteers

Chadron, NE (02/13/2024) — Aubree Heinsma of Windsor, Colorado, is a Chadron State College Admissions Ambassador who leads tours for prospective students and their families.

She has qualified for the President's List, with a 4.0 cumulative grade point average, every semester at CSC.

Heinsma is a member of the CSC women's golf team and, as a freshman, was named a Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar. The WGCA website indicates the selection criteria are some of the most stringent in college athletics and demonstrate a high level of academic achievement.

"I really enjoy the friendships I have made with my teammates," she said.

She plans to become a small animal veterinarian specializing in orthopedics or sports medicine and rehabilitation. She is a member of the Pre-Vet Club and Chemistry Club where she plans and participates in events.

Like several other Admissions Ambassadors, Heinsma volunteers on The Big Event staff.

"We hold a big event in the spring of each year where hundreds of students, faculty, and staff volunteer and give back to the community. Many students help participate in this event by raking leaves, painting, picking up litter, or spending time with elderly residents playing games, singing, or serving ice cream."

Her hobbies include reading, running, hiking, and traveling.
