Meet CSC Admissions Ambassador Liz Garza

Chadron, NE (02/13/2024) — CHADRON - Chadron State College student Elizabeth "Liz" Garza of Lincoln, Nebraska, is an Admissions Ambassador who provides tours for prospective students and their families when they visit the CSC campus.

When she started her higher education journey, she was unsure about her life and career goals.

"After four years at CSC, I have learned a lot more about myself as a person. My career goal is now to become an environmental conservationist, after taking classes such as zoology and ecology that have increased my interest and passion for plants, animals, and the environment," she said. "I plan to use my college education to advocate for issues I am passionate about and make positive impacts on scientific knowledge and sustainability."

She said the most life-changing course she has taken was Biological Evolution with Dr. Joyce Hardy.

"This course changed my perspective on how biological systems coexist and how humans interact with the world around us. This course has also aided in the progression of my technical writing skills along with my research abilities," Garza said.

Garza enjoys her membership in the Zeta Alpha Kappa sorority and being an active volunteer in The Big Event, a student-led community service day.

"I enjoy participating because it allows me to meet people in Chadron and show my support for the local community," Garza said.

Her hobbies include watching movies and playing Fortnite with friends.
