Meet CSC Admissions Ambassador Markus Ramsey
National business competition winner reflects on CSC
Chadron, NE (02/13/2024) — CHADRON - Markus Ramsey of Minden, Nebraska, is a Chadron State College Admissions Ambassador who provides tours for prospective students and their families when they visit the CSC campus.
In June 2023 in Atlanta, Ramsey placed first in Human Resource Management at the Collegiate National Leadership Conference of Future Business Leaders of America.
"Finally hitting that top spot after two years of competing, as well as getting handed the banner and trophy by a close friend of mine, felt like a dream," he said.
Although he changed majors from English Education to Business Administration, Ramsey said he believes meeting certain students and faculty helped him to pursue his ideas and goals.
"My Introduction to Management class showed me a lot of the social, leadership, and teamwork skills that will be needed in the business world while my Strategic Management class let us run through a business simulation and consider what goes into running a business," he said.
In addition to his coursework and providing tours for campus visitors, Ramsey is part of the recently formed CSC Esports team and competed in the first Esports tournament in CSC's conference.
When he graduates from CSC, Ramsey said he plans to take the positive community presence with him.
"It is just incredible to see how passionate community members are about the college and how dedicated faculty are to helping students succeed in whatever they want to pursue," Ramsey said.
